Environmental Pollution

Pollution means to contaminate purity. The unhealthy environment is highly unfavourable for living objects. This problem is gradually taking a gigantic proportion and is threatening the life and safety of people in general. Pollution of various kinds i.e. water, water, noise and flood pollution etc. are causing a drastic threat to man’s existence. Our modern civilization is basically responsible for it because of the emission of CO₂, sulphur oxides and hydrocarbons. And it has led to increasing pressure for restriction on the burning of fossil fuels. The discharge of these air pollutants is causing serious respiratory diseases in human beings.

    Another offshoot of industrialism, which has tarnished/discoloured the quality of life, is noise pollution. The constant noise of factories operating in residential areas and the confusing roaring of vehicular traffic preys upon the nerves and robs the peace of citizens. Thronged motorbikes, cars, buses etc. leaving dark trails of carbon monoxides are a common sight in being cities.

          “The pollution of the soil” reduces the amount of land available for cultivation. The modernization of agriculture has its good points but bad points, too. The heaps of garbage and industrial wastes are dumped underground or in rivers and seas. This causes insanitation, killing of fish and sea animals or it harms. The growth of sea animals and plants.

    It is authentic to add that the basic aspect which is giving rise to the enormous and gigantic problem is the ever-increasing pollution of the country. Today, we are standing almost on the threshold of population explosion. This simultaneously aggravates the situation. The congestion in towns, the more traffic on roads, the more they need for space resulting in deforestation, the more dust, the more factories, the dirtier the air.

“Pollution is the greatest crime man is committing against man.”

So, who is to be blamed for this disaster? If we think logically, we can get the answer immediately. It is “Man” himself who is responsible for pollution in the world. Our scientific and industrial progress has taken us to the Moon, it has made our own planet very difficult and dangerous to live on. It has made us selfish, materialistic, cruel and boorish. Modern man seems to be indifferent and cold towards the good and upright of others. He is killing his future generation.

    Lastly, environmental welfare and economic development are not exclusive to each other. But a balance has to be maintained; otherwise, we shall become richer but unhealthy and ailing. The economic growth due to the development in industry and agriculture should be undertaken, but not at the cost of human health. Concern for the environment is essential for the nation development of natural resources. If this balance is lost, the life of a few may become prosperous but the life of many would stand devastated.

 آلودگی کا مطلب پاکیزگی کو آلودہ کرنا ہے۔  غیر صحت مند ماحول زندہ اشیاء کے لیے انتہائی ناگوار ہے۔  یہ مسئلہ بتدریج ایک بہت بڑا تناسب اختیار کر رہا ہے اور عام طور پر لوگوں کی زندگی اور حفاظت کو خطرہ بنا رہا ہے۔  مختلف قسم کی آلودگی یعنی پانی، پانی، شور اور سیلاب کی آلودگی وغیرہ انسان کے وجود کو شدید خطرات سے دوچار کر رہی ہیں۔  ہماری جدید تہذیب بنیادی طور پر CO2، سلفر آکسائیڈ اور ہائیڈرو کاربن کے اخراج کی وجہ سے اس کے لیے ذمہ دار ہے۔  اور اس نے جیواشم ایندھن کو جلانے پر پابندی کے لیے دباؤ بڑھایا ہے۔  ان فضائی آلودگیوں کا اخراج انسانوں میں سانس کی سنگین بیماریوں کا باعث بن رہا ہے۔

 صنعتی نظام کی ایک اور شاخ، جس نے معیارِ زندگی کو داغدار/رنگ کردیا ہے، شور کی آلودگی ہے۔  رہائشی علاقوں میں چلنے والی فیکٹریوں کا مسلسل شور اور گاڑیوں کی ٹریفک کی الجھن زدہ گرج شہریوں کے اعصاب پر شکنجہ کستا ہے اور شہریوں کا سکون چھین رہا ہے۔  کاربن مونو آکسائیڈ کی تاریک پگڈنڈیوں کو چھوڑنے والی موٹر سائیکلیں، کاریں، بسیں وغیرہ شہروں میں ایک عام سی بات ہے۔

 "زمین کی آلودگی" کاشت کے لیے دستیاب زمین کی مقدار کو کم کرتی ہے۔  زراعت کی جدید کاری کے اچھے نکات ہیں لیکن برے نکات بھی۔  کچرے کے ڈھیر اور صنعتی فضلات کو زیر زمین یا دریاؤں اور سمندروں میں پھینک دیا جاتا ہے۔  یہ پاگل پن کا سبب بنتا ہے، مچھلیوں اور سمندری جانوروں کو مارتا ہے یا نقصان پہنچاتا ہے۔  سمندری جانوروں اور پودوں کی نشوونما۔

 یہ اضافہ کرنا مستند ہے کہ بنیادی پہلو جو اس بڑے اور بہت بڑے مسئلے کو جنم دے رہا ہے وہ ملک کی مسلسل بڑھتی ہوئی آلودگی ہے۔  آج ہم آبادی کے دھماکے کی دہلیز پر کھڑے ہیں۔  یہ بیک وقت بڑھتا ہے۔  شہروں میں بھیڑ، سڑکوں پر جتنی زیادہ ٹریفک، اتنی ہی زیادہ جگہ کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے جس کے نتیجے میں جنگلات کی کٹائی ہوتی ہے، اتنی ہی زیادہ دھول، اتنی ہی زیادہ فیکٹریاں، اتنی ہی ہوا گندی ہوتی ہے۔

 "آلودگی انسان کے خلاف سب سے بڑا جرم ہے۔"

 تو اس تباہی کا ذمہ دار کون ہے؟  اگر ہم منطقی طور پر سوچیں تو ہمیں فوراً جواب مل سکتا ہے۔  یہ خود "انسان" ہے جو دنیا میں آلودگی کا ذمہ دار ہے۔  ہماری سائنسی اور صنعتی ترقی ہمیں چاند پر لے گئی ہے، اس نے ہمارے اپنے سیارے پر رہنا بہت مشکل اور خطرناک بنا دیا ہے۔  اس نے ہمیں خود غرض، مادیت پرست، ظالم اور بیہودہ بنا دیا ہے۔  جدید انسان دوسروں کی بھلائی اور راستبازی سے لاتعلق اور سرد نظر آتا ہے۔  وہ اپنی آنے والی نسل کو مار رہا ہے۔

 آخر میں، ماحولیاتی بہبود اور اقتصادی ترقی ایک دوسرے کے لیے مخصوص نہیں ہیں۔  لیکن توازن برقرار رکھنا ضروری ہے۔  دوسری صورت میں، ہم امیر لیکن غیر صحت مند اور بیمار ہو جائیں گے.  صنعت اور زراعت میں ترقی کی وجہ سے معاشی ترقی کی جانی چاہیے، لیکن انسانی صحت کی قیمت پر نہیں۔  قدرتی وسائل کی ملکی ترقی کے لیے ماحولیات کی فکر ضروری ہے۔  اگر یہ توازن ختم ہو جائے تو چند لوگوں کی زندگی خوشحال ہو سکتی ہے لیکن بہت سے لوگوں کی زندگی تباہ ہو جائے گی۔
